In case you play this weird game too...Disney's Lost and Found can help!

I don't know about you but I D-R-E-A-D leaving our resort when our trip has come to end. Not only am I sad that I can't live there, but I despise re-packing everything. Despite our best intentions, even with a late check-out, it's always a mad dash to get everything packed up and out the door before Mousekeeping comes a callin'.

Yes, it would be smart to pack the night before, but we don't. Usually because we're making the most of our last night in the parks and come "Home" way too late to even consider doing that. Also, I don't want to accept the fact that I'm actually leaving until I'm absolutely forced to. Packing up signals the trip has come to an end...Sigh....

So during the last day of our last trip to Disney's Old Key West Resort we found ourselves once again playing a round of a fun game we call "Sleep In Until The Last Minute And Then Rush Around to Fill The Luggage Cart With Four Peoples Vacation Souvenirs and Belongings In Under 30 Minutes Before Mousekeeping Comes Knocking On The Door". Truth be told, it's not actually fun, but for some reason we can't stop playing it.

Usually we win this twisted game and everyone's belongings make it back home safe and sound...usually.

During our last trip we overlooked our GoPro charger and battery that we had plugged in in the master bedroom. ooopsie!

When we got home my husband immediately called Old Key West and explained what happened. The Cast Member was pretty understanding, however she offered us little hope of getting it returned if  Lost and Found didn't have it. She then transferred hubby to Lost and Found where he was prompted by a recording to leave his information and someone would contact him soon. The next morning a very friendly cast member called to let us know she had our charger and battery! We had to verify a few identifying characteristics about the items like the brand etc, then she confirmed our shipping info and said she'd mail it out to us.

Two days later, I'm happy to announce we have our charger and battery back! Hooray!

Moral of the story, don't play weird games that test your memory and endurance first thing in the morning on the day your Disney vacation has come to an end. You will most likely leave something behind...and lose the game. But if you do, Disney is awesome and they will make every effort to locate and return your items to you...WIN!

Here's Disney's policy on how long they will hold your items should you lose or forget something during your stay.

Held for 30 or 90 Days

Highly valuable items (such as wallets, purses, credit cards, prescription glasses and cameras) are held for 90 days.

Items of lesser value (such as sunglasses, hats, toys and clothes) are held for 30 days.

Has this ever happened to you? Were your items found and returned? Let us know. We had a very positive experience and would love to hear your feedback.

See ya real soon!
